Dress Like a Native

When you're onboard a Princess cruise, you'll find your days are filled quite easily. You can take a ScholarShip@Sea® class on cooking, ceramics, photography and more. For something physical, take an exercise class at the gym, practice your putt on the green, or get a massage at the Lotus Spa®. But once you reach your port of call things can change dramatically. You're now on an exciting shore excursion with a day filled with adventure. Are you ready?

To be sure, here are a few tips of what to bring, take or wear for your trip through the Amazon, down under in Australia, or just kicking back in Hawaii.

The Amazon:

  • Rain clothes (that are impermeable)
  • Pair of binoculars
  • Insect repellent (with 35% DEET)
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Cotton clothes, pants and long-sleeved shirts
  • Several pairs of socks and T-shirts
  • Light jacket or sweater (temperature drops when it rains)

Australia:

  • Jeans, T-shirts and comfortable shoes
  • Layers: sweaters, jackets, etc.
  • Remember it’s their summer during our winter
  • Adaptor plugs (240/250 volts, AC 50 Hz cycle)
  • Less money! It’s not as customary to tip down under

Hawaii:

  • Sandals or lightweight shoes
  • Sunscreen and straw hats
  • Shorts, lightweight pants
  • Skirts, tank tops
  • Bathing suits and bikinis
